Five photographs from the Andreasstrasse Memorial in Erfurt. Brick walls, metal grilles, narrow doorways and a view of the sky record the spaces and surfaces of this place of remembrance.

The memorial occupies a former prison used by the Stasi for pre-trial detention. Its exhibitions examine political imprisonment, dictatorship and the path to revolution in East Germany.
